Hibernia Learning Centre is located in Ain Khaled, Doha. Founded in 2010, Hibernia has gone from strength to strength over the years. The founder, Mrs. Lindy Foster-Roe and her husband, Denis Roe, are active in the management of the centre and as teachers.
Being a family run centre, the atmosphere is warm and caring and the children know that their welfare is of great importance to us. Our parents greatly appreciate the attention their children receive and know that this familial ambiance helps their children to achieve.
Tuition in our centre is offered through our Morning Programme (Young Learners), Ladies Programme (Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced) and our After School Programme.
The Morning Programme is specially designed to help the following groups of students:
Children who cannot be accepted into one of the English Language International Schools because they do not yet have the required level of spoken and written English.
Children who arrive late in the academic year and are on a waiting list for their parents’ chosen school.
Children whose parents are processing ID cards or other papers. For children who need to acquire the required level of English, we offer small group classes arranged in accordance with the age and level of the child.
We focus on the spoken language but we also make sure that the children are working on reading and writing activities so that the four principal areas of language acquisition are targeted i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. We offer the opportunity, several times per week, for all students to do mini presentations before the assembled groups, in order to develop the confidence they will need to function in a totally English- speaking environment, when they begin in their new school.
